Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. has obtained funding for the project “Construction of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz - Rybnik gas pipeline” from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 program.

The project includes two investments:
  1. construction of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz gas pipeline with a diameter of 1000 mm and a length of 37 km,
  2. construction of the Racibórz - Rybnik gas pipeline with a diameter of 700 mm and a length of 38.7 km

The map shows the route of pipes with diameters of 1,000 mm and 700 mm and the borders of the Opole and Silesian provinces.The purpose of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz - Rybnik project is to build a modern and safe natural gas transmission infrastructure necessary for the energy transition of the region.

The beneficiaries of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz - Rybnik project will be current and future consumers of natural gas from the Opole and Silesia provinces. Thanks to the implementation of the investment, conditions will be created for the connection of companies from the electric power sector and industry to the natural gas transmission network. In particular, the investment will enable the start of natural gas transmission to the gas-steam unit under construction in Rybnik.

The effect of the project will be to increase the availability of gaseous fuels, which will have an impact on improving air quality and the environment by reducingCO2 emissions.
