Gas transmission (SGT)
The Transit Gas Pipeline System in the territory of the Republic of Poland (SGT) makes part of the approximately 4,000 km long Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, of which the length of the Polish section of the pipeline is 684.8 km.
The owner of the SGT is System Gazociągów Tranzytowych EUROPOL GAZ S.A. with its registered office in Warsaw, and by decision of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. was designated the transmission system operator of the Polish section of the Yamal pipeline.
GAZ-SYSTEM, applying objective and transparent principles which ensure an equal treatment of system users according to the Article 9c of the Energy Law, and taking into account the environmental considerations, ensures, among other things:
The owner of the SGT is System Gazociągów Tranzytowych EUROPOL GAZ S.A. with its registered office in Warsaw, and by decision of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. was designated the transmission system operator of the Polish section of the Yamal pipeline.
GAZ-SYSTEM, applying objective and transparent principles which ensure an equal treatment of system users according to the Article 9c of the Energy Law, and taking into account the environmental considerations, ensures, among other things:
- control of gas flows,
- safety of the operation of the SGT and the control of the natural gas flow by the GAZ-SYSTEM with due regard to the rights of the SGT Owner, by the means of, among other things, the management, supervision and control of the maintenance activities, repairs and operations of the SGT,
- dispatcher cooperation with their counterparts at the operators of other sections of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline,
- balancing and congestion management of the SGT,
- delivery of information for system users and operators of other transmission systems concerning the terms and conditions of transmission services,
- cooperation with other operators of gas systems with the participation of the SGT Owner.
