Volunteer firefighters are the backbone of safety in local communities. With a view to support their activities, the ‘GAZ-SYSTEM for Safety’ programme is being launched. Our company will allocate nearly PLN 1.5 million towards the development and upgrade of equipment for Volunteer Fire Brigades (VFBs).

The programme is addressed to VFBs operating in municipalities where GAZ-SYSTEM’s transmission infrastructure is located or where strategic investments projects are being implemented.

- Local Volunteer Fire Brigades play a vital role in emergency situations, as they are often the first to arrive at the scene and provide assistance to residents. Safety is a priority for our company, which is why we want to support those who, with their courage and dedication, protect lives, health and property – emphasises Agnieszka Głośniewska, Spokesperson for GAZ-SYSTEM.

Between 2023 and 2025, GAZ-SYSTEM donated nearly PLN 2.5 million to support VFBs across Poland. With this year's edition of the ‘GAZ-SYSTEM for Safety’ programme, the total amount of support will reach nearly PLN 4 million. The company plans to continue the programme in the coming years.

Who can apply for support?
Volunteer Fire Brigades from municipalities where GAZ-SYSTEM owns transmission infrastructure or implements investment projects.

How can the funding be used?
The brigades may apply for grants of up to PLN 40,000. The funds may be used for:
  • purchase of fire-fighting and rescue equipment,
  • supplementing collective and personal protective equipment,
  • education, training and the development of skills necessary for rescue operations and the protection of people.
The call for applications is open until 15 May 2026. The application form and detailed information, including the programme guidelines, are available on the website gaz-system.pl under the ESG tab.

The first edition of the programme has received the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Energy and the Commander-in-Chief of the State Fire Service, which highlights the initiative's importance in bolstering local safety.
