Preparation for the FSRU 2 Open Season procedure in dialogue with the market
GAZ-SYSTEM organised a workshop for market participants as part of market consultations of the Open Season procedure for the FSRU 2 Terminal project in the Gulf of Gdańsk.
The hybrid workshop addressed to entities interested in booking additional FSRU Terminal regasification capacity was held on 22 January 2026. It was attended by over 100 participants from 25 companies representing the Polish and foreign markets.- Considerable interest of market participants in the expansion of the FSRU Terminal’s regasification capacity confirms the increasing relevance of LNG in ensuring energy security for Poland and the region of Central and Eastern Europe. The workshop was intended to provide an opportunity to exchange information and consult project assumptions, and as such it constituted an important step in the dialogue with the market. The underlying objective of the meeting was to make the opinions and expectations of all parties interested in the FSRU project heard. In addition, the participants were provided with all facts and figures necessary to participate in the following stages of the procedure, including submission of the binding offers - said Sławomir Hinc, President of GAZ-SYSTEM Management Board.
The workshop comprised a presentation of key assumptions of the procedure, as well as discussion on the documentation issued for consultation, followed by an active exchange of opinions among market participants on the planned investment project and the procedure.
The results of a non-binding call for interest launched by GAZ-SYSTEM in September 2025 provided momentum for the activities aimed at initiating a binding Open Season procedure for the FSRU 2 Terminal. The response to the call for interest in increasing the available regasification capacity of the FSRU Terminal demonstrated significant attention of market participants.
The Open Season procedure is expected to confirm long-term, binding demand for additional regasification capacity. The results of this process will be crucial for future investment decisions and the implementation of the FSRU 2 Terminal project, which, in addition to securing the supply of gas for domestic consumption, will also increase the potential export of gaseous fuel to the countries in the region.
Consultations on the Open Season procedure documentation are currently underway. More information is available at the company website in CURRENT CONSULTATIONS tab.
The FSRU Terminal (Floating Storage Regasification Unit) developed by GAZ-SYSTEM in the Gulf of Gdańsk, currently under construction, will provide up to 6.1 billion cubic metres of natural gas after regasification. Construction works proceed according to schedule, and the commissioning of the Terminal is planned in 2028. The FSRU 2 Terminal project envisages the extension of the unloading facility with necessary installations and the second FSRU vessel for unloading, in-process storage, and regasification of LNG.
