The Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor launches Call for Interest to help shape a cross-border hydrogen pipeline

We invite all interested stakeholders to participate in our non-binding Call for Interest. The purpose is to map market needs for cross-border hydrogen transmission infrastructure and to collect indicative, non-binding signals that inform routing and corridor design.   

With the survey, we want to offer all interested stakeholders an opportunity to: 

  • Impact the development of the NBHC pipeline 
  • Engage in more in-depth dialogue with us 
  • Enhance the overall development of the hydrogen market in the Baltic Sea region 

 

What information do we collect? 

  • Project/cluster information on planned hydrogen production and consumption 
  • Information on storage operators and distribution systems 
  • Shippers’ perspectives on likely transportation routes and cross-border flows in the Baltic Sea region 

 

How is the survey structured? 

The survey consists of maximum six sections depending on your company's role in the hydrogen markets. Before each section, you will be asked if you represent a certain type of market player and by choosing 'no' you can skip the respective section. Depending on how many sections are relevant to you, the survey may take 10-30 minutes to answer. 

The sections are presented below: 

  1. General information (for all).
  2. Production (for hydrogen producers).
  3. Consumption (for hydrogen consumers). 
  4. Storage (for storage operators).
  5. Distribution (for distribution operators). 
  6. Cross-border transmission (for shippers).

Preliminary market consultations concerning the planned purchase of biomethane for use in technological processes.

This initiative supports the implementation of GAZ-SYSTEM's energy transition strategy and stimulates the development of solutions to reduce carbon footprint.

As a renewable fuel with properties comparable to natural gas, biomethane can significantly contribute to reduced carbon footprint of technological processes and infrastructure facilities. Therefore, GAZ-SYSTEM is reviewing the potential of this fuel both for purchase and future use in its facilities.

The primary objective of Preliminary Market Consultations is to present to market participants the plans and requirements with respect to future fuel orders by GAZ-SYSTEM. As part of the dialogue with potential suppliers, the Company also intends to collect information about current production capacities, commercial conditions, and development trends in the biomethane sector. Based on the that knowledge, the scope of future orders will be thoroughly adjusted to market conditions and the potential of domestic producers.

The Company invites biomethane producers and companies trading in this fuel to participate in market consultations. A brief survey is available on the GAZ-SYSTEM Procurement Portal. The deadline for completing the surveys has been extended to 15 February 2026.
