GAZ-SYSTEM revealed the route of the largest investment project under construction in southern Poland. Two gas pipelines measuring over 280 kilometres will support the integration of the national transmission system with three system interconnections at the border with Lithuania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. They will also enable transport of gaseous fuel imported via the FSRU terminal being constructed in the Gulf of Gdańsk towards the south regions of Poland.

The project will be implemented in the Lubelskie and Podkarpackie provinces; the provincial governors have issued all five location decisions for the planned connection between the gas nodes in Wronów and Strachocina.

The planned Wronów – Rozwadów and Rozwadów – Strachocina gas pipelines constitute the components of the Central – East Corridor investment program which includes the already operational Gustorzyn-Wronów gas pipeline and the Poland-Lithuania cross-border interconnection. Along with the former one, the network from Wronów to Strachocina will constitute the main transmission line in this part of the country.

Construction work is expected to commence at the turn of 2026 and 2027, following the selection of contractors. This year, apart from selecting the contractors for the construction works, the geodetic demarcation of the assembly corridor, as well as archaeological surveys and unexploded ordnance clearing are planned.
In 2024, GAZ-SYSTEM, as a responsible investor, organised a series of information and consultation meetings for the residents of all municipalities along the pipeline route. Over 500 participants attended 25 meetings in total.

The DN 1000 Wronów – Rozwadów gas pipeline will be approximately 120 km long and will cross 11 municipalities in the Lubelskie Province and 2 municipalities in the Podkarpackie Province. Six Line Valve Stations are planned along the gas pipeline route.

The gas pipeline will connect Rozwadów II gas node (designed as part of the Wronów – Rozwadów project) with the expanded nodes in Głuchów and Strachocina. Consequently, the village located in Sanok district will gain access to another important element of gas transmission infrastructure, beside three gas pipelines and a gas node as part of the North-South Corridor and an underground gas storage facility.
