Fostering regional cooperation with Ukraine

Gas Transmission System Operators of Poland and Ukraine – GAZ-SYSTEM and GTSOU (Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine) held a workshop addressed to natural gas market participants focused on the possibilities of gas transmission at the Poland–Ukraine system interconnection. The workshop was another step in developing long-term cooperation and regular dialogue between operators and market participants.

The online meeting took place on 3 February 2026 with more than 130 attendees representing primarily transmission system users and gas traders from Poland and other countries.

During the workshop, Operators presented current and future infrastructure and market opportunities for gas transmission towards Ukraine, including available capacity for gas year 2025/2026. GAZ-SYSTEM presented also the key assumptions of FSRU2 Terminal, including access rules and a schedule of planned Open Season procedure. GTSOU provided an overview of the current situation on the Ukrainian gas market and highlighted the importance of integrating Ukraine’s transmission system with Polish transmission system.

Both operators also announced public consultations on the incremental capacity project on the Poland-Ukraine system interconnection. Market participants can submit comments on the project, its  rules and conditions by 27 February 2026.
