Zbigniew Rapciak - Member of the Management Board of Polskie LNG sp. z o.o.
On 27 April 2009, a new member - Zbigniew Rapciak - was appointed to the Management Board of Polskie LNG sp. z o.o. The new Member of the Management Board shall assume his position on 1 May 2009. Zbigniew Rapciak was the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure until March 2009. In the years 2002-2008, he held the position of Director of the General Directorate for Roads and Motorways of Poland in Cracow. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of the Agency for the Building and Operation of Motorways in Warsaw and Director of the South-Eastern Division of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Cracow. From 1995-1999, he was the director of the Municipal Economy Department in the City Hall of Cracow, and earlier the Deputy Director of Directorate of the Municipal Roads in Cracow and Deputy District Manager of Public Roads in Cracow. Zbigniew Rapciak graduated from the Cracow University of Economics. He completed a post-graduate course in management and finances at the Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw. He also underwent specialist traineeships in management in Milan. ***Polskie LNG sp. z o. o. is a special purpose vehicle established to construct and operate the Liquefied Natural Gas terminal in Świnoujście. The construction of the LNG terminal will enable the off-take of liquefied natural gas in order to increase the energy security of Poland. Polskie LNG sp. z o.o. has already received the environmental decision concerning both the land and the sea part, confirming that the investment is safe for the NATURA 2000 regions and does not disturb their integrity. The submission of the application for the issue of a building permit is planned for May 2009. At present, the company - in cooperation with the designer - is preparing the necessary documentation required for submission with the said application. According to the schedule of works, the launch of the LNG terminal is expected to take place at the end of 2013 or the turn of 2014. The Polskie LNG sp. z o.o. Company is owned by the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.
