The President of the Energy Regulation Office approved the Transmission Network Code (TNC)

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. adapted the provisions of the new version of the TNC to the changes arising out of the amendment of the Energy Law regarding the mechanism of the Reserve Sale. In particular, a list of grounds for initiating the Reserve Sale was introduced, as well as a procedure for the operator to enter into a Reserve Sale Agreement on behalf of the customer.
The reason for updating the provisions of the TNC arises also from the expiry of the period for using the temporary measures pursuant to the Commission Regulation (UE) no. 312/2014 of 26 March 2014 establishing a network code concerning balancing gas in the transmission networks (NC BAL). According to the new code, there will be no tolerance for unbalancing, and balancing the low methane gas will be carried out under the market principles, based on the instruments of the Intraday Market operated by the Polish Power Exchange.
The introduction of the above changes by the GAZ-SYSTEM closes another significant phase of implementing the regulations of the European Network Codes in the national Network Transmission Code – NTC. Pursuant to the decision of the President of the Energy Regulation Office, the amended NTC becomes effective as of 1 April 2019, 6.00 a.m.
Please note, that the content of the NTC approved by the President of the Energy Regulation Office was published by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. in the Customer zone.
