Signing of the sale agreement of the Polskie LNG company

Photo of the article The Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A. and the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. companies signed a sale agreement of the Polskie LNG Sp. z o.o. company worth 52 million PLN on 28 November 2008.  
The value of the Polskie LNG company was established on the grounds of an assesment performed by an independent expert. This amount was accepted by the Supervisory Board of PGNiG S.A. and GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. The Extraordinary General Assemblies of PGNiG S.A. and GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. also expressed their consent for the sale of 100% shares of Polskie LNG Sp. z o.o. at this price on 26 November 2008 in Świnoujście.
Earlier, on 8 November 2008, the Extraordinary General Assembly of PGNiG S.A. gave its consent without conducting a tender for the sale 100% of the shares of Polskie LNG Sp. z o.o. with its seat in Świnoujście to Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.
The Polskie LNG company was established in 2007 for the construction and exploitation of a natural gas liquefacation terminal (LNG) in Świnoujście. The establishment of the LNG terminal will enable the off-take of 2.5 billion m3 of natural gas annually at the initial stage and will contribute to increrasing the energy security of Poland.
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. will supervise the establishment of the LNG terminal, whereas PGNiG S.A. will remain responsible for the delivery of liquefied natural gas to the terminal in Świnoujście.
