Operating Agreement Signed
On 25 October 2010, having received favourable opinion from the Supervisory Board and the approval of the General Meeting, Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. has signed with the company EuRoPol GAZ s.a. the agreement transferring operator's responsibilities on the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe Gas Pipeline.
On Monday (18 October 2010), the companies EuRoPol GAZ s.a. and GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. have completed their negotiations on the document and initialled it. Thereafter, GAZ-SYSTEM applied to the Energy Regulatory Office for the verification of whether or not the Agreement provisions are consistent with legislation, including whether they ensure unrestricted access to free capacities in the gas pipeline for interested parties. In its opinion issued on 20 October 2010, the Energy Regulatory Office has expressed no reservations to the finalised Agreement.
The need to designate the operator of the Yamal-Europe Gas Pipeline in Poland is stipulated by the provisions of Poland's Energy Law.
The signing of the Agreement will allow the Energy Regulatory Office to issue a decision designating GAZ-SYSTEM as the operator of the Yamal-Europe Gas Pipeline in Poland.
