New requirements for providers of design services
On 2 February 2015, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. organized an information meeting for potential providers of design services. It was attended by 40 representatives of companies from all over Poland.
The aim of the meeting was to make participants familiar with the requirements associated with designing transmission system components and the new procedures for issuing opinions on project documentation, as well as the new scope of designing in GIS. Providers of design services had an opportunity to acquaint themselves with preliminary drafts of documents describing technical requirements associated with GIS data and to present their comments and opinions.

Consultations with suppliers are essential for developing common solutions which will contribute to the success of the entire investment process in future. By sharing our experience gained during the completion of previous projects and listening to comments of our partners, we will avoid many problems in future, as well as the resultant delays in the construction of gas pipelines – says Sławomir Śliwiński, Member of the Management Board of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.

The meeting with providers of design services was yet another interactive form of contact with the market and potential suppliers which was organized by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. Such a dialogue makes it possible to build relationships and to develop high business standards. It also promotes good practices set out in the „Rules of Conduct for Suppliers of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.”.

We feared that this “raised bar” in terms of quality standards would be strongly criticized by design companies. To our surprise, it met with a favourable response. The meeting was attended by 40 participants from 17 companies, which proves that the market of design services for the transmission system is developing fast and that there is keen interest in orders contracted by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. – says Anna Bednarek, Director of the Purchasing Division.
