New requirements for building contractors
On 17 April, 2015, over 70 representatives of construction companies from all around Poland attended the briefing session concerning orders for construction works for GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. in the perspective of the transmission network development up to the year 2023.
At the meeting, there were presented a list of new investment projects included in the Development Plan and Investment Plans until 2013, and expectations of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. related to the building works performance standard. Additionally, guidelines resulting from procedures of the Transmission Network Operating System were discussed with a particular focus placed on hazardous gas work and other hazardous work. Such an approach aims at better preparing prospective tenderers for both tenders and performance of agreements. 
“In the 2023 perspective, we will face new challenges. During the implementation of the five-year investment programme we gathered a great deal of experience in constructing gas lines with a diameter of 700 mm. At present we would like to set new standards for investment tasks that involve constructing sections of transmission network with a diameter of 1000 mm”, in the words of Jakub Stypuła, Investment Division Director of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. At the meeting, details of participation in tender proceedings were explained and there were discussed changes in approach to tenders and implementation of investment projects that are intended to improve the quality of cooperation with the building contractor market.
“The quality of both cooperation with suppliers and their task performance are very important for us. For this reason, we present our expectations in advance at open meetings. This way, we are able to directly exchange opinions with suppliers. For 2015, there are planned 354 proceedings for construction works valued at nearly PLN 1.9 billion. Opinions from the market will certainly greatly contribute to efficiently dealing with them”, in the words of Anna Bednarek, Purchase Division Director of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.
