Location decisions for the Gustorzyn-Odolanów gas pipeline in the Greater Poland and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodships

Photo of the article On 28 February 2011, the Greater Poland Voivode, Piotr Florek, issued the location decision for the gas transmission pipeline on the Gustorzyn-Odolanów route (stage II – in the Turek, Kalisz, and Ostrów Wielkopolski Poviat's, approx. 85 km in length). 

The Gustorzyn-Odolanów gas pipeline has already received the location decision for all its sections.  On 19 January 2011, the location decision was granted for the first stage of the Gustorzyn-Odolanów gas pipeline in the Koło and Turek Poviat's of the Greater Poland Voivodship.  On 21 January 2011, the Kuyavian-Pomeriania Voivode, Ewa Mes, granted the location decision for the investment located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodship.

The Gustorzyn–Odolanów gas pipeline is located in the territory of the Greater Poland and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodships.  It will total 168 km in length with a diameter of 700 mm and will contribute to increasing the gas transmission security in Central Poland.  The route will traverse the Koło Poviat in the Greater Poland Voivodship, (including the following Communes:  Babiak, City and Commune of Koło, Osiek Mały and Kościelec), the Turek Poviat (with the following Gminas: Brudzew, Turek, Przykona and Malanów), as well as the Kalisz Poviat (including the Gminas: Mycielin, Ceków Kolonia, Żelazków, Blizanów and the City of Kalisz), also the Ostrów Wielkopolski Poviat (with Gminas: Nowe Skalmierzyce, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Przygodzice, and Odolanów). The remaining part of the gas pipeline in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodship will encompass three Gminas of the Włocławek Poviat (Brześć Kujawski, Lubraniec and Izbica Kujawska).

The performance of the Gustorzyn-Odolanów section of the GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. investment project has received co-financing in the amount of 175.5 mln PLN from the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013 (OPI&E). The following gas pipelines have also received co-financing from this Programme: Włocławek-Gdynia (31 mln PLN), Jeleniów-Dziwiszów (65.1 mln PLN), Szczecin-Gdańsk (226.9 mln PLN), Polkowice-Żary (25.6 mln PLN) and Rembelszczyzna-Gustorzyn (121.55 mln PLN).

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is planning to build over 1,000 km of new gas transmission pipelines by 2014.  The most important will be constructed in North Western and Central Poland (Szczecin-Lwówek, Świnoujście–Szczecin, Szczecin–Gdańsk, Włocławek–Gdynia, Rembelszczyzna–Gustorzyn, and Gustorzyn–Odolanów), as well as in Lower Silesia. The last section of the Włocławek – Gdynia pipeline is currently under construction. The remaining gas pipelines in North Western and Central Poland are on the stage of preparing the design documentation, encompassing the civil engineering design along with obtaining the building permits. The design documentation will be completed in 2011, after which invitation to tenders shall be published for the construction of those gas pipelines.

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is also fulfilling the construction of a new interconnector between Poland and the Czech Republic.

The Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is a strategic, wholly-owned State Treasury Company responsible for the transmission of natural gas throughout Poland.
