JT S.A. builds the Zdzieszowice - Kędzierzyn-Koźle gas pipeline

The Zdzieszowice - Kędzierzyn-Koźle gas pipelinewith a diameter of 1,000 mm, pressure of 8.4 mPa and length of 17.3 km, will be built in the Opolskie Voivodeship, on the territory of Leśnica and Kędzierzyn-Koźle communes. Ultimately, it will converge with Zdzieszowice - Wrocław and Tworóg - Kędzierzyn-Koźle gas pipelines that are currently under construction and will be connected to the planned gas compression station in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. As part of the investment a gas node will also be built in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
SGS Polska performs the investor’s supervision, whereas the author’s supervision shall be performed by Górnicze Biuro Projektów PANGAZ, an entity responsible for the preparation of design documentation for this task.
The gas pipeline represents a fragment of the western leg of the North-South gas corridor and it is going to connect the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and the proposed Baltic Pipe with the Adria LNG Terminal in Croatia in the future. The construction of the Zdzieszowice - Kędzierzyn-Koźle gas pipeline has been included in the catalogue of projects accompanying the investments related to the development of the liquid natural gas regasification terminal in Świnoujście. Additionally, the investment has a Project of Common Interest (PCI) status.
The construction of the gas pipeline aims at increasing the system’s capacity and the region’s attractiveness for investment. On the national scale, the construction will enhance security and diversify the natural gas supply to Poland. An important asset for local communities will be the real property tax paid every year by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. at 2% of the value of the gas infrastructure located in the territory of a given commune.
