GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.’s debut in the Polish Ranking of Responsible Companies

Photo of the article Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. made its debut in the Ranking of Responsible Companies 2012, developed by the Business Ethics Centre of the Kozminski University and the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily. The company ranked fourth among the debutants, ninth among companies from the energy sector, and 40th in the general ranking.
The Ranking of Responsible Companies is compiled every year. More than 500 companies have been invited to participate in this year’s (sixth) edition. The ranking has been developed based on the questionnaire prepared by Dr Bolesław Rok, an expert from the Business Ethics Centre of the Kozminski University with contribution from the consulting company PwC which was responsible for verifying the survey. This year’s questionnaire comprised 66 closed-ended questions in five areas: responsible leadership, dialogue with stakeholders, social involvement, responsible management, and social innovation.
“I think our debut in the Ranking of Responsible Companies has been successful. Our activities related to the implementation of the fifth objective of our business strategy – to manage the company from the perspective of sustainable development – have been subjected to professional external verification and appraised highly. This gives us an impetus for continued development and improved action in this respect.” – said Jan Chadam, the President of the Management Board of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.

In March 2012, GAZ SYSTEM S.A. has also become the Strategic Partner of the Responsible Business Forum (RBF), the oldest and the biggest non-governmental organisation in Poland to provide in-depth focus on the concept of corporate social responsibility.

Cooperation with the Forum will certainly improve our competence and implementation of new business practices in the area of corporate responsibility.
