GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and the Office of Technical Inspection have signed ‘Technical Conditions’ document
On 12 July 2013, Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and the Office of Technical Inspection signed ‘Technical Conditions’ presenting a homogeneous position agreed upon between GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and the Office of Technical Inspection.
The document governs numerous significant matters pertaining to newly constructed gas transmission pipelines, does not however apply to modernisation, reconstruction, overhauls and repairs of the existing transmission network or newly constructed gas transmission pipelines of the nominal diameter of DN200 and lower.
Matters provided for in the document govern: requirements pertaining to the project documentation developer, the scope of the project documentation, deviations obtained at the design stage, requirements with respect to deliveries of pipes and fixtures and acceptance certificates applicable to construction work contractors, welding works supervision and welded joints control, and requirements applicable at the operation authorisation obtainment stage.
Regulations contained in the ‘Technical Conditions’ shall become effective as of 15 July 2013.
The Office of Technical Inspection is an institution operating in the area of ensuring safety of technical equipment and systems within the scope provided for in the act on technical inspection.
The Office also operates in the area of assessing compliance of technical equipment with applicable regulations and technical specifications at the design, production and operation stages. The Office is an organisation independent both financially and in the area of its technical activities.
It has been authorised and notified by the European Commission with respect to its operations as Notified Body no. 1433 with respect to thirteen EU Directives, the so-called New Approach directives, in accordance with the provisions of the act on the compliance assessment system dated 30 August 2002 (Dz. U. [Dziennik Ustaw, Journal of Laws] of 2002, No. 166, item 1360, as amended; consolidated text: Dz. U. [Dziennik Ustaw, Journal of Laws] of 2004, No. 204, item 2087).
