GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. - a Partner of the 21st Economic Forum in Krynica
The 21st Economic Forum was held in Krynica on 7-9 September 2011, and was inaugurated by the plenary session entitled "European Dilemmas: Partnership or Rivalry?” which was opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Donald Tusk.The partner of the plenary session was GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., which also involved the following participants: Vladimir Filat, Prime Minister of Moldova; Micheil Saakaszwili, Prime Minister of Georgia, Janusz Lewandowski, Member of the European Commission responsible for Financial Programming and Budget, Jan Chadam, President of the Management Board of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., Aaron Davis, Chief Marketing Officer and Member of the Executive Committee at Schneider Electric S.A., Filip Thon, President of the Management Board of RWE Polska. The debate was moderated by Ryan Chilcote, Bloomberg correspondent.
The project fulfilled by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and NET4GAS s.r.o. – the connection of the natural gas transmission systems of Poland and the Czech Republic, was also presented at the plenary session. This connection demonstrates the realisation of the strategy fulfilled by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. of gradually increasing the integration of the gas markets in Central Europe through the construction of interconnectors within the so-called North-South Gas Corridor, which involves the connection of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście, traversing through southern Poland and the countries in the south of Europe, with the Adria LNG terminal in Croatia and the planned Nabucco gas pipeline. The discussion panel unanimously stressed the role of the solidarity of European Union States in building the energy security of Europe.

The President of the Management Board of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. also took part in a debate organised by Goldman Sachs International about the role of Central and Eastern Europe in the New Europe where it was discussed whether, despite the evident successes that countries in this part of Europe have enjoyed in recent years, the risk exists that Poland and other countries that are following the path of economic growth, will suffer the consequences of global turbulence.
The President, Jan Chadam, was also guest of a discussion panel entitled "The Fulfilment of Public Projects with the Use of Special Purpose Vehicles - Challenges, Instruments and Innovations”, organised by the subsidiary of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., Polskie LNG S.A. Issues related to the performance of public investments via special purpose vehicles and the principles of the business model of such organisations were discussed during the debate.

During the panel the most important issues connected with the construction of infrastructure and the methods of financing of such investments were considered. The ranking of Polish infrastructural investments from 2001 - 2010 were also presented.
