FNE grants awarded in Wielkopolska voivodeship

Photo of the article On 17 February grants were awarded to the winners of the 6th edition of the Fund for Natural Energy competition in Wielkopolska voivodeship.

The Fund for Natural Energy is a grant competition held by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. which aims at supporting projects related to pro-eco activities. The patrons of the competition are Our Earth Foundation, the Office of the Voivodeship Governor and the Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund of the Wielkopolska voivodeship in Poznań.

This year, 11 projects were submitted and 5 of them received grants of PLN 10,000 each. The following projects were awarded:
  1. “Green energy, healthy residents”, submitted by the Knight of the Order of Smile Elementary School in Kobylnica. Project aims at educating people on the issues related to global warming and its negative effects. It consists of a series of talks and workshops on renewable energy sources conducted by experts. The programme targets both children and adults.
  2. Our eco-friendly commune!” submitted by Krobia commune. Project aims at engaging children, young adults and local communities in activities for environmental protection.  It was developed to increase eco-awareness of wildlife (fauna and flora of local forests), dendrology, the significance of bees for our lives and nature, waste collection, recycling and protecting birds. 
  3. “Eco-friendly life on Prosna and Garbacz” School Complex in Żegocin. Project aims at shaping right attitudes and eco-awareness amongst children and young adults of Czermin commune by using dynamic field eco-education and by promoting positive measures for local environment protection.  
  4. “Herbs are trendy”, submitted by School Complex in Otoczna. Project aims at creating Medicinal Plant Centre and conducting pro-health education – teaching about medicinal properties of herbs, increasing eco-awareness amongst local students and their parents, growing a sense of responsibility for the environment. 
  5. “Nature around us”, submitted by the Development and Education Association under the village head office of Janków Przygodzki. Project aims at educating children on the natural environment of Dolina Baryczy and promoting local environment in cooperation with their parents.

The gala was held at the Office of the Voivodeship Governor. Cheques and commemorative diplomas were handed by Marlena Maląg, Deputy Governor of Wielkopolska voivodeship and Jarosław Gniazdowski, the Head of the Poznań Department.
