Commercial summary of December: companies FITEN SA, Alpiq Energy SE and EWE Trading GmbH with a transmission contract with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.

FITEN SA, a company functioning since 2007, specialises in wholesale electricity trading in commodity markets in Europe as well as in providing electricity to end users in Poland. Among its partners in the field of wholesale trade, there are domestic energy companies and enterprises from the Czech Republic, Germany, England and Austria. This year FITEN SA extends its offer addressed to business customers from the SME sector with the sales of natural gas.

The group of companies cooperating with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A was joined also by Alpiq Energy SE – a European company being a part of a the Alpiq international concern, functioning on the markets of the Central and Eastern Europe. The activities of the Branch in Poland comprise, above all, wholesale trade in electricity and sales of electricity to large industrial customers. The offer of Alpiq Energy includes also services such as energy portfolio optimisation, access to the market, consultancy in the field of energy purchase and management of CO2 portfolios.
Thanks to the conclusion of contract with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A, natural gas is included in our portfolio of offered products. As one of the most active independent trading companies in the Polish market, we believe in further liberalisation of the gas market, which will allow us to successfully develop cooperation with trading companies and large industrial customers in the area of trade, gas supply and provision of energy services. EWE Trading GmbH is responsible, within the EWE concern, for activities related to the trade in energy and constitutes a coordination point in relations with electricity and natural gas wholesale markets. Moreover, the company deals with issues related to emission allowances and securing oil and gas prices. EWE Trading GmbH allows for the optimisation of EWE concern’s energy portfolio and it is a significant player in the renewable energy market in Germany. In Poland, the EWE concern has been operating since 1998 through its subsidiary EWE Polska Sp. z o.o. and, since 1999, through EWE energia Sp. z o.o.
After EWE Trading GmbH had received a licence for trading in gas in Poland, we concluded a transmission contract with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A in order to start operations. In the future, EWE Trading GmbH will aim to coordinate actions in the said fields also in the Polish market – emphasised Malte Neuendorff and Andreas Robert Hartung, representatives of the Board of Directors of EWE Trading GmbH.
In December, due to a transaction in the gas exchange conducted by TGE S.A.,
11,88 TWh of fuel were transmitted, and within a transaction in the OTC market – 11,74 TWh.
Within the framework of the contract model proposed in the Transmission Network Code, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A concludes with customers transmission contracts which are completed with the allocation of specific capacity and transmission capacity. The model helps to flexibly respond to the transmission needs of Customers of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A and to meet them on the basis of an entry-exit tariff.
