Another ship with liquefied natural gas arrived at the President Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal in Świnoujście on Monday, 17 October. This is the eighth delivery of the commodity to Poland. This time the gas was transported on board the LNG carrier UMM AL AMAD.“According to the plan, we will unload ca. 205 thousand cubic metres of LNG,” says Adam Łupkowski, the unloading manager, deputy manager of the Operations Department of Polskie LNG. The majority of the liquefied gas is first regasified, i.e. changed from liquid to gaseous form, and then transported to the national transmission system in the quantity of more than 120 million cubic metres of natural gas. Upon being metered at the measurement station, the commodity is directed straight to the Świnoujście-Szczecin pipeline, from where it is subsequently transferred to the rest of the GAZ-SYSTEM transmission infrastructure, and then to customers. The rest – in liquefied form – is transported with tanker lorries. Currently, between 5 and 8 tanker lorries are loaded every day, each accommodating ca. 36 cubic metres of LNG. According to the delivery schedule, two more LNG carriers will arrive at the terminal this year. Tomasz Pietrasieński Press Officer GAZ-SYSTEM mobile: 885 888 849
