A memorandum of understanding on arranging the issues
November 30, 2016. Polish Gas Company and Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM signed a memorandum of understanding on the anticipated implementation of the project, meant to arrange the infrastructure of the transmission and distribution system.
The memorandum of understanding is a step forward in the process of regulating the status of gas networks in Poland. Earlier on, on June 29, 2016, the companies concluded a memorandunm on assessment of the opportutnities referring to the takeover of system facilities.
In this document, both parties confirm that they intent to continue a cooperation on the review of the gas infrastructure in terms of transmission and distribution functionalities. Moreover, they define the framework of possible deals to be made in the future.
The first stage of the project stipulates that Polish Gas Company purchases selected segments of the transmission system and gas stations from GAZ-SYSTEM. Additionally, it is to cover an analysis of infrastructure elements, GAZ-SYSTEM is supposed to buy from Polish Gas Company.
Once all the relevant criteria have been fulfilled, the companies will close the deal, that is scheduled for 2017.
The memorandum of understanding has been signed by Management Boards of both companies.
