Over 70 Volunteer Fire Brigades across Poland will receive funding under the first edition of the ‘GAZ-SYSTEM for Safety’ programme. The nearly PLN 1.5 million will be allocated, among other things, to the purchase of essential rescue and fire-fighting equipment, protective gear, as well as training and skills development for volunteer firefighters.

- The implementation of strategic investment projects must go hand in hand with enhancing the preparedness of emergency services. The ‘GAZ-SYSTEM for Safety’ programme is an important initiative that converts this responsibility into tangible support for Volunteer Fire Brigades. Such initiatives strengthen the capabilities of the services which are a pillar of local safety and the state’s resilience. The security of energy infrastructure entails a commitment to people and local communities –  said Miłosz Motyka, Minister of Energy.

- Security is one of the cornerstones of GAZ-SYSTEM’s operations. For us, this means not only ensuring the reliability of natural gas supplies, but also taking responsibility for the environment in which we operate. For years, we have been supporting fire brigades in their efforts to protect local communities. The ‘GAZ-SYSTEM for Safety’ programme is yet another element of this collaboration. It provides tangible support for our firefighters – through investment in modern equipment, education and training to prepare them for emergency situations. Having witnessed the scale of interest in the first edition, we have decided to continue the programme in the coming years  – emphasised Adam Bryszewski, Vice-President of GAZ-SYSTEM Management Board.

The first edition was launched in May 2026.  Within three weeks, GAZ-SYSTEM received over 2,000 applications from Volunteer Fire Brigades across Poland. Support was awarded to 73 units based in areas covered by the Company infrastructure or investment projects.

Social responsibility

The ‘GAZ-SYSTEM for Safety’ programme is aligned with the Company’s ESG policy and its strategic priorities, which include energy security and corporate social responsibility.

GAZ-SYSTEM has been cooperating with fire brigades for many years. Since 2020, the Company has donated nearly PLN 3 million to the fire service. With this year's  programme edition,  the total value of funding will rise to over PLN 4 million.

There are more than 15,000 Volunteer Fire Brigades operating in Poland and providing considerable support to the State Fire Service. Access to modern equipment and regular professional training helps firefighters respond more effectively to emergencies and provide assistance to those in need.

A list of the Volunteer Fire Brigades that received funding in the first edition of the ‘GAZ‑SYSTEM for Safety’ programme is available on the dedicated website.

The programme is held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Energy and the Commander-in-Chief of the State Fire Service.
