Energy transition begins with education. Launch of the 2026 ‘Mission: Transition! GAZ SYSTEM Academy’
The second edition of chemistry workshops for 7th and 8th grade students, "Mission: Transition! GAZ-SYSTEM Academy" has begun, featuring mobile laboratory demonstrations planned in 97 schools across the country.
The initiative ‘Mission: Transition! GAZ-SYSTEM Academy’ was intended to familiarise primary school students with issues related to environmental protection and the challenges of modern energy. Its aim is to get young people engrossed with the concept of energy transition and to present the role of natural gas, biomethane and hydrogen in Poland's future energy mix.- The interest in the workshops conducted in 2025 confirms the importance of this initiative. We perfectly understand the relevance of education, especially in the field of sustainable energy. We are also aware of how difficult it is to promote knowledge among young people in an inspiring and attractive way. That is why we are extremely pleased with the positive reception of the workshops - said Agnieszka Głośniewska, spokesperson for GAZ-SYSTEM.
The workshops combine theory with practice – the program includes interactive demonstrations and experiments enabling students’ direct participation supervised by an instructor. The workshop program covers the following topics:
- chemical and physical properties of various gases,
- hydrocarbon structure,
- phenomenon of gas compressibility,
- physical laws governing the behaviour of gases: Boyle-Mariotte law and Bernoulli's principle,
- hydrogen and electrolysis.
The workshops are held in primary schools in municipalities where the company implements investment or modernisation projects. In this year's edition, the mobile laboratory will organise live demonstrations in 97 schools. The entire educational initiative has been planned for 2025–2027 and will address a total of 188 schools all over Poland.
The project is implemented in cooperation with Smart_Lab.
