The company was granted PLN 10 million in support from European funds for the construction of the Kotowice-Krzeczyn gas pipeline. The new infrastructure in Lower Silesia province will enhance the security of gas supply in the region.

The planned gas pipeline will increase the capacity of the national transmission system and provide additional supply capabilities in this part of the country.  Better access to energy infrastructure is expected to improve the attractiveness of the territories along the new route to investors, industry and logistics in particular.  That, in turn, may translate into economic development and new job opportunities in the region.

An additional benefit for local communities will be the annual property tax paid by GAZ-SYSTEM, amounting to 2 per cent of the asset value of the transmission network located within a given municipality.  These funds will constitute a steady source of revenue for local administration budgets.

The project involves the construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline of 300 mm in diameter and a total length of approx. 38 km, crossing Pęcław, Grębocice, Polkowice and Lubin municipalities. The infrastructure has been designed to operate at a standard working pressure of 5.5 MPa, with the potential to increase capacity to a maximum of 8.4 MPa. The project is currently at the engineering phase, and its estimated total cost of implementation amounts to over PLN 206 million.
