The updated GAZ-SYSTEM Transmission Network Code enters into force
The amended document also regulates the injection of biomethane supplied in the form of Bio-CNG into the transmission network.
The updated Transmission Network Code was approved by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office. The Code also provides for measures to support the development of the biomethane sector and sets out rules pertaining to the transmission of renewable gases. The amendments are effective as of 22 April 2026 at 06:00.
The Code lays down the rules governing the operation of the transmission system and the conditions for network users’ access to gas infrastructure. The latest update covers both regulatory aspects and the directions for gas market development.
The key amendments to the Transmission Network Code include:
- new measures to support the development of the biomethane market such as regulations concerning the injection facilities enabling the supply of biomethane in the form of Bio-CNG into the transmission system,
- clarification of the capacity allocation rules, capacity allocation forecasts, and the principles governing the issuance of information concerning the possibility of connecting to the transmission network.
