Planned modernisation works at the cross-border interconnection point between Poland and Ukraine
The planned modernisation works at the GAZ-SYSTEM/UA TSO GCP are to take place between 20 and 25 October 2025. The works are primarily aimed at improving transmission conditions at the Gas Interconnection Poland – Ukraine and thereby strengthening the Ukraine's energy security. The works will result in limited transmission capacity of the said interconnector.
Due to the limited transmission capacity available throughout the period of the works, all interested market participants are encouraged to plan their capacity booking with respect to daily products to arrange for higher daily product nominations in advance on days preceding 20 October and following 25 October 2025. This will ensure optimum transmission levels towards Ukraine.
In addition, please be informed that on Monday, 15 September 2025, the offered monthly products for uncontracted available transmission capacity for October 2025 will amount to 2,921,000 kWh/h. Please note that during the modernisation works, the physical gas transmission capacity will equal respectively:
- 2025-10-20 (06:00 UTC) - 2025-10-23 (06:00 UTC) – 0 kWh/h (UMM)
- 2025-10-23 (06:00 UTC) - 2025-10-25 (06:00 UTC) – 2 872 025 kWh/h (UMM)
Additionally, please note that in accordance with the applicable tariff, in the case of booked capacity for annual, quarterly and monthly products, if the works planned by the operator result in restricted transmission through an entry or exit point, the system user may apply for a fixed-rate discount adequate to the severity and duration of the restriction. Close cooperation of market participants and system operators with respect to capacity booking for October 2025 – both in the period directly preceding and following the planned modernisation works – will ensure uninterrupted supply of natural gas to Ukraine in quantities corresponding to the prevailing market demand and the needs related to filling gas storage facilities in Ukraine.
