GAZ-SYSTEM and the Ukrainian transmission system operator Gas TSO of Ukraine (GTSOU) have agreed to extend the temporary increase of the offered firm capacity at the exit point towards Ukraine (GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/UA TSO) until September 2026.

On the basis of the adopted a temporary technical solution enabling the increase of transmission capacity towards Ukraine (as announced in our press release of 13 June 2025  GAZ-SYSTEM is to increase gas export capability towards Ukraine) GAZ-SYSTEM has decided to increase its commercial  product offering for a further period.

The firm capacity in the direction from Poland to Ukraine available in upcoming auctions held on the GSA Platform:
  • Up to 3,390,000 kWh/h (300 000 m3/h) – offered in yearly product in the period from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026 (the yearly auction volume reduced by 10%  – the allowance so created will be allocated to shorter time products).
  • Up to 5,311,000 kWh/h (470 000 m3/h) – offered  in monthly, daily and intraday products in the period from 1st August 2025 to 30th September 2025.
  • Up to 5,198,000 kWh/h (460 000 m3/h) – offered in quarterly, monthly, daily and intraday products in the period from 1st October 2025 to 31st May 2026.
More details on individual products are provided on the GSA Platform. The upcoming firm capacity auctions are scheduled on:
  • 7 July 2025 (yearly auction - gas year 2025/2026),
  • 21 July  2025 (monthly auction - monthly product for August 2025 ),
  • 4 August 2025 (quarterly auction - quarterly products for the 2025/2026 gas year),
  • 18 August 2025 (monthly auction - monthly product for September 2025)
Daily and intraday product auctions are also held each day.

Nevertheless, the solution referred to above is only temporary, and the current technical and commercial conditions of the national transmission network are sufficient to provide assistance to Ukraine by ensuring uninterrupted natural gas supply.

The permanent improvement of export system capabilities that will provide long-term stability of gas supply to Ukraine requires additional investments in transmission infrastructure.

In order to assess market developments, GAZ-SYSTEM regularly conducts surveys and market screening to determine the actual and sustained demand for gas transmission between the neighbouring countries. Such procedures provide valuable information in the decision-making process whether the Company should cover the expenses associated with expansion of gas transmission system. We therefore encourage all market participants to join the incremental capacity procedure planned in July 2025 on the basis of which the Company will reassess market interest in long-term cross-border incremental capacity with Ukraine.
