Gas Inside Information Platform – meet your REMIT reporting obligations with us

On 28 February 2024, an anniversary meeting was held with the customers of the Gas Inside Information Platform. For 5 years now, GAZ-SYSTEM and other participants in the wholesale electricity and natural gas markets have been publishing REMIT inside information* (so-called UMM) on the Gas Inside Information Platform (GIIP). On this occasion, GAZ-SYSTEM – the GIIP operator, organised a virtual meeting attended by the platform's customers and the representatives of the Energy Regulatory Office. The platform's anniversary was an opportunity to summarise the GIIP's activities and its development to date. The meeting also addressed topics related to the amendment of the EU REMIT Regulation and the impact of the proposed changes on the GIIP functioning.

Launched in 2019, the Gas Inside Information Platform was the only platform in Poland to offer inside information publication services for the natural gas market. GAZ-SYSTEM started posting UMM messages on the GIIP, with the first commercial customers soon joining. At the same time, the platform was included in the official list of the Inside Information Platforms (IIP) maintained by the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). The agency carried out the platform verification process, which resulted in the confirmation of GIIP's full compliance with REMIT regulatory requirements and guidelines for the services offered. 

From 2021 onwards, inside information disclosed on the GIIP concerns not only the natural gas but also the electricity market. For this purpose, the platform has been expanded in cooperation with Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A., which also publishes its inside information there.  

The information posted on the GIIP is collected by ACER and monitored by electricity and gas market participants, agency journalists and business analysts.

The topic of the REMIT regulation which is currently being amended was also raised during the anniversary meeting. The GIIP administrators shared their insights with regard to the proposed changes and their impact on the platform operation.
