Construction work has been resumed on the halted sections of the onshore part of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline in Denmark

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency (DEPA) has issued a new environmental permit for the construction of the onshore section of Baltic Pipe gas pipeline that were put on hold last year. This allows Energinet - GAZ-SYSTEM's Danish partner in the project - to resume construction in the eastern part of Jutland and the western part of Funen.
The work on the 40-kilometre pipeline in eastern Jutland and the 38-kilometre route in western Funen will start immediately. The new environmental permit contains several additional requirements aimed at protecting wildlife during and after construction.
As declared by Energinet, the original start-up date for the Baltic Pipe pipeline will not change. The Baltic Pipe's initial capacity will be approximately 2-3 bcm per annum as of 1 October 2022, and full capacity of 10 bcm per annum will be achieved from the beginning of 2023.
Construction of the Baltic Pipe pipeline in Poland proceeds according to the schedule, and the first gas from the Norwegian Shelf is expected to reach Poland on 1 October 2022.
