The new state-of-the-art gas compressor station in Kędzierzyn-Koźle is a key element of the North-South Gas Corridor and allows gas supplied from Baltic Pipe and the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście to be sent to the south and east of Poland – from Lower Silesia to Podkarpacie area.

- The start-up of the new compressor station in Kędzierzyn Koźle, the 15th compressor station in our National Transmission System, is yet another important stage in GAZ-SYSTEM's largest ever investment programme to change the direction of gas supply to Poland from east to north. The construction of this compressor station, as well as the one in Gustorzyn and the expansion of Goleniów CS and Odolanów CS being a part of the Baltic Pipe project, will increase the compression capacity of the gas transmission system in Poland by more than 50%. These GAZ-SYSTEM's investments make the Polish transmission system resilient to disruptions in gas supply from the east – said Tomasz Stępień, President of GAZ-SYSTEM.

The compressor station, built as part of the North-South Gas Corridor (consisting of over 860 km of gas pipelines) is a facility with a total capacity of 23 MW. Kędzierzyn compressor station is located in Opolskie Province, covers an area of 10 hectares and its construction took 3 years. It is equipped with three compressor units of 7.68 MW each, driven by gas turbines. The option to increase the number of units from three to six in order to allow further future increases in compression capacity has been included in the design.
