LWG to join a group of accredited laboratories in Europe

Photo of the article The Polish Centre for Accreditation granted accreditation to the GAZ-SYSTEM Gas Meter Calibration Laboratory (“LWG”) in Hołowczyce as a calibration laboratory for turbine gas meters with high-pressure natural gas. This is the first accredited laboratory of this kind in Poland. LWG thus joined the few accredited bodies in this field in Europe.
The Laboratory filed an application for accreditation with the Polish Centre for Accreditation (“PCA”) in July 2018. The first stage of the process involved a review and assessment of documentation and the next step was an on-site assessment and observation of calibrations performed by the LWG staff. Based on these observations and assessment, PCA confirmed that LWG has an implemented and maintained management system in compliance with the reference standard PN-EN ISO 17025 and its staff is properly qualified to perform calibrations.
The Gas Meter Calibration Laboratory in Hołowczyce has taken further steps to expand its scope of accreditation by extending the calibration range and adding new calibration capabilities for other types of gas meters.
The Polish Centre for Accreditation is a national accreditation body authorised to grant accreditation to conformity assessment bodies under the Conformity Assessment Systems and Market Surveillance Act of 13 April 2016. PCA holds the status of a state-owned corporate body and is regulated by the Minister of Economy.
