HDD drilling under the San river began

The first phase provides a so-called pilot drilling for the pipeline DN200 that will be a scrubber reverse and after the completion as a casing tube for a fiber optic line.
Pilot drilling for the target gas pipeline will be done secondly. After the pilot hole has been done, it will be broadened in some stages with the use of drilling equipment adopted to geological conditions. After demanded hole diameter is achieved, the stage of pipeline drawing occurs.
HDD drilling under the San river is a part of works connected with realization of the gas pipeline Hermanowice-Strachocina being essential element of the Eastern thread of the Gas Corridor North-South. The 72 km long route will run through communes of Podkarpackie voivodship: Przemyśl, Fredropol, Ustrzyki Dolne, Bircza, Tywara Wołoska, Dydnia and Sanok.
Scope of investment, apart from the construction of the gas pipeline, comprises also, among others, extension of the Hermanowice knot with designing and building the offshoot towards Ukraine and building five linear barrier-relief sets DN700 8,4 MPa with by-pass systems.
Purpose of the project is to increase the energy security of the country and modernization and extension of a transmission system in the region of South-Eastern Poland. The investment is of huge importance in the context of the planned construction of a new gas pipeline Poland-Ukraine running between the knot Hermanowice on the Polish side and the knot Bliche Volytsia on the Ukrainian side.
Estimated construction cost of gas pipeline amounts to 288 million zloty. Financing of over 110 million zloty for the realization of this investment was obtained from the Operating Program Infrastructure and Environment.
Expected term for investment completion is 2019.
