GAZ-SYSTEM has presented offer of products that will be made available in annual auction
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. as the independent operator of the national transmission system and the independent operator of the Polish section of the Yamal-Western Europe transit gas pipeline system (hereinafter referred to as: Yamal gas pipeline) offers the capacity of interconnections in during annual product auction.
The auctions starts on 1 July 2019 at 9.00 a.m. (CEST) on the GSA Platform, which is a tool used to book interconnection capacities. Market participants interested in the transmission of gas may book capacities on a firm basis within annual products which make capacity available for no more than the next 15 gas years. The auctions are conducted in accordance with the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/459 of 16 March 2017 establishing a network code on capacity allocation mechanisms in gas transmission systems (CAM NC), which requires operators at points on interconnection with other transmission systems to offer standard products, i.e. capacity available for annual, quarterly, monthly, daily, or within-day periods. The Network Code also requires operators to publish their product offers one month before the annual auction date. The gas year runs from 1 October 6:00 a.m. of the current year to 1 October 6:00 a.m. of the following year.
The offer of GAZ-SYSTEM at the annual auction on 1 July 2019 concerns the following points connecting the national transmission system with neighbouring systems:
- GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/Ontras entry point on the Polish-German border
- GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/Ontras exit point on the Polish-German border
- Cieszyn entry point on the Polish-Czech border
- Drozdowicze entry point on the Polish-Ukrainian border
- Wysokoje entry point on the Polish-Belorussian border
- Tietierowka entry point on the Polish-Belorussian border
- Point of Interconnection (PWP) entry point
The offer of GAZ-SYSTEM ISO at the annual auction on 1 July 2019 concerns the following points on the Yamal pipeline:
- Kondratki TGPS entry point
- Mallnow TGPS exit point
- Mallnow Rewers TGPS entry point
- Point of Interconnection (PWP) TGPS exit point

Yamal Gas Pipeline’s Capacity in Gas Year 2019/2020
Due to the completion during the gas year (16 May 2020) of the historical transmission contract for the transport of gas through the Yamal gas pipeline, in the coming gas year 2019/2020, GAZ-SYSTEM ISO will offer the available capacity of the Mallow TGPS exit point and the Kondratki TGPS entry point as part of the auction of within-day, daily, monthly, and quarterly products.
Those interested in booking Yamal pipeline’s capacity between 17 May 2020 and 30 September 2020, will be able to purchase it in accordance with the following auction calendar:
- Quarterly product with delivery in July – September 2020 – made available at the auctions on 5 August 2019, 4 November 2019, 3 February 2020, and 4 May 2020,
- Monthly product with delivery in June 2020 – made available at the auction on 18 May 2020,
- Daily product with the delivery from 18 to 31 May 2020 – made available at the auction 24 hours before the start of the delivery,
- Within-day product with the delivery on 17 May 2020 – made available at the auction 4 hours before the start of the delivery.
The remaining capacity of the Kondratki TGPS entry point and the Mallnow TGPS exit point will also be made available as part of the quarterly product auctions (on 5 August 2019, and possibly at subsequent auctions if all available capacity is not sold).
Capacity for the next 14 years (from 2020/2021 to 2033/34) can already be booked as part of annual products.
In accordance with the EU regulations in force, the capacities allowing gas transmission through the Polish section of the Yamal gas pipeline may be booked at the auctions organised on the terms and on dates specified in the CAM NC.
Available capacities are offered to interested market participants under a non-discriminatory auction procedure conducted on an arm’s length basis.
Calendar of Auctions
Firm capacity, which is not sold within annual products for the following gas year (from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2020), will be made available to market participants during auctions of short-term products, such as quarterly, monthly, daily, and within-day products.
Auctions of interruptible capacity relating to annual products will be held, in accordance with the auction calendar of 15 July 2019, on the GSA Platform, after all requirements under the CAM NC have been met.
