Commercial summary of October: GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is commencing co-operation with five new parties contracting gas transmission services

The group of transmission clients was joined by, i.a., Gas and Energy Trading  Sp. z o.o., Polish Trading Point  S.A. and ENiGAZ Sp. z o.o., thus increasing the number of transmission clients of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. to 115 entities.

The new business partners include Gas and Energy Trading Sp. z o.o., rendering electrical energy and natural gas sale services.  The company conducts its activity in the whole territory of Poland, based on the TPA (Third Party Access) rule which means that access is granted to the infrastructure of third parties, and therefore, customers have a choice of energy seller. Gas and Energy Trading Sp. z o.o. opened up a possibility of combining wholesale trade in power and gas with sale to business and individual clients.

Market trends clearly indicate a continuous growth in natural gas sales, in particular in the segment of small and medium-sized enterprises. We endeavour to strengthen the sales of the blue fuel, and that is why the transmission contract with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. will allow us to strengthen our position in the group of sellers -   emphasizes Jerzy Miszczak, President of the Management Board of Gas and Energy Trading Sp. z o.o.

Polish Trading Point S.A. (PTP), functioning in the Polish market since 2015, also decided to sign a transmission contract in October (PTP). The enterprise offers its clients a possibility of participating in the Purchase Group by consolidation of natural gas volumes purchased or planned for purchase at the Polish-German border. Thanks to that, it is possible to achieve a stronger position in negotiations with potential suppliers which are conducted by PTP on behalf of the Purchase Group.  In addition to the conduct of price negotiations, PTP also offers its clients intermediary services in the process of conclusion of commercial agreements and the service of contract execution.

ENiGAZ Sp. z o.o., which specializes in the rendering services providing for optimization of cost and procedural effectiveness of gas market players, also joined the group of parties contracting gas transmission services.  The company’s clients include end users, trading companies and distribution system operators. ENiGAZ Sp. z o.o. offers a wide range of services connected with measurement data processing, gas use profiles and balancing. The company also conducts training and workshops concerning the gas market in Poland.

In October 2015, as a result of a transaction at the gas exchange conducted by TGE S.A., 7.95 TWh of fuel was transmitted, which gives a result which is slightly higher than the result for the corresponding period of the previous year (7.44 TWh). Within the framework of transactions in the OTC market, nearly 12.5 TWh of gas was transmitted last month, which constitutes a drop in comparison with the value obtained in October 2014  (21.95 TWh).

On 31 October 2015, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. conducted the first auctions of day-ahead and intraday products on the GSA platform. Since 1 November 2015, the clients of
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. have been able to use, at trans-border points,  DAY-AHEAD and INTRADAY products, which have been made available according to the requirements of the Regulation of the EU Commission No. 984/2013 of 14 October 2013, establishing the network code concerning mechanisms of allocation of capacity in gas transmission systems, supplementing Regulation of the EU European Parliament and Council No. 715/2009 (NC CAM). Thanks to that, market users can buy the available continuous or interrupted day-ahead capacity for the following day (DAY-AHEAD product) and the available continuous transmission capacity during a 24-hour period (INTRADAY product).
