Baltic Pipe: Goleniów-Lwówek gas pipeline obtained all building permit decisions
GAZ-SYSTEM has obtained a permit from Lubuskie province governor for the construction of the Goleniów-Lwówek gas pipeline, a key element of the onshore section of the Baltic Pipe Project in Poland. This is the final stage of obtaining permits for this part of the investment. The decisions were already issued by Zachodniopomorskie and Wielkopolkie province governors. The gas pipeline with a total length of 191 km will be arranged along the existing Szczecin-Lwówek gas pipeline. The route will run through three provinces: Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie and Wielkopolskie. In Lubuskie is will be located in the municipalities of Strzelce Krajeńskie, Zwierzyn, Santok, Deszczno, Skwierzyna, Przytoczna and Pszczew. The planned gas pipeline was divided into two implementation stages: - STAGE I: Goleniów-Ciecierzyce, approximately 122 km long, - STAGE II: Ciecierzyce-Lwówek, approximately 69 km long, The decision of the governor was issued for both stages. - Owing to good cooperation with province governors we managed to obtained, in the first two months of this year, most of the permits necessary to start construction works on the shore section of Baltic Pipe. The tender procedure for selecting the contractor and investor supervision for this section is at an advanced stage - said Tomasz Stępień, President of GAZ-SYSTEM. The purpose of this investment is to increase the volume of gas offtake from the Baltic Pipe submarine gas pipeline and the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. It will have an impact on free transport of gas to the southern regions of Poland through the connection to the North-South Gas Corridor.
