GAZ-SYSTEM takes active steps to strengthen energy security in the region

GAZ-SYSTEM has decided to temporarily modify its product offer at the exit point from Poland towards Ukraine. From January 1 2025 until September 30 2025, firm capacity will be offered in this direction as short-term products.

To date, capacity towards Ukraine was offered as an interruptible service. Offering firm capacity became possible owing to GAZ-SYSTEM's persistent implementation of its investment programme aimed at strengthening energy security both in Poland and the region.

The current technical and commercial conditions make it possible to maintain stability of the system operation and, at the same time, to strengthen the Company's role with respect to cross-border gas flows.

- Providing firm natural gas transmission services to Ukraine will enhance energy security in the region. Network users connected to the Poland-Ukraine gas interconnector will be able to ensure stable gas supply to their customers in Ukraine – said Sławomir Hinc, GAZ-SYSTEM President.

The capacities not contracted under the previously offered products will be provided at the GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/UA TSO as firm capacity in short-term products (quarterly, monthly, daily and intraday) until the end of the 2024/2025 gas year.
