GAZ-SYSTEM has selected the designer for FSRU Offshore Project

GAZ-SYSTEM has signed an agreement with Rambøll Danmark A/S for the preparation of the Construction Permit Design for the offshore infrastructure associated with the construction of the FSRU Terminal.
- Signing the agreement for engineering works is an important milestone that brings us closer to obtaining the Construction Permit for the offshore component of this Project – said Tomasz Stępień – President of GAZ-SYSTEM.
Under the agreement, Rambøll will perform the necessary seabed surveys, prepare the environmental inventory, develop FEED (Front End Engineering Design), Construction Permit Design, Detailed Design and obtain the necessary administrative decisions and permits – including the Construction Permit.
About the Project
The Project involves locating a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Gdańsk Bay and the construction of infrastructure (berth including the necessary equipment and offshore pipeline) to receive liquefied natural gas delivered by sea, its regasification and introduction into the National Transmission System.
The FSRU Terminal shall provide regasification capacity of approx. 6.1 bcm per annum. Furthermore, possible increase of the regasification capacity will also be possible but will depend on the market development and possible increase in demand for natural gas in Poland and the region.
The FRSU Program will also see the expansion of the National Transmission System, which will enable efficient distribution of natural gas from Gdańsk area to both domestic and regional customers. Onshore projects include:
- Kolnik-Gdańsk gas pipeline – approx. 35 km long
- Gustorzyn-Wicko gas pipeline, Gardeja-Kolnik section – approx. 86 km long
- Gustorzyn-Wicko gas pipeline, Gustorzyn-Gardeja section – approx. 128 km long
The handover of the entire system for operation is planned for 2027/2028.
