This year is the first time that gas market participants can reserve annual capacities for the new Poland-Denmark, Poland-Lithuania and Poland-Slovakia interconnectors. On 4 June 2022, GAZ-SYSTEM presented an offer of annual products for existing and new interconnectors that will be made available for auction on the GSA and RBP Platform.

We are finalising the largest investment program in the history of GAZ-SYSTEM. This allows us to make the capacities of three new interconnectors available to the market, to enable imports of natural gas to Poland from many directions and sources," said Tomasz Stępień, President of the Management Board of GAZ-SYSTEM.

The auctions will commence on 4 July 2022 at 9.00 a.m. (CEST) on two interconnection capacity booking platforms. The capacity allocation at the German-Polish border at GAZ-SYSTEM/ONTRAS and Mallnow GCP points will take place via the RBP platform. Capacity at other points on the GAZ-SYSTEM and GAZ-SYSTEM ISO interconnectors will be offered on the GSA Platform.

The auctions will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/459 of 16 March 2017, establishing the Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms in Gas Transmission Systems (CAM NC). The document mandates that operators at interconnection points with other transmission systems offer standard products, i.e. capacity made available on an annual, quarterly, monthly, daily or intra-day basis. The Network Code also requires operators to publish their product offer one month before the annual auction date.

Information on the capacity offered at each point and period is published on the GSA Platform and RBP:
