Polish hydrogen market development is progressing towards a new phase. This important aspect of the energy transition process is advancing initial planning and declarations into the concrete development of regulatory frameworks and functional systems. GAZ-SYSTEM has been designated as the Hydrogen Transmission Network Operator until 2036. Furthermore, the company is the first operator in the European Union to have obtained a certificate of independence. Additionally, the National Ten-Year Hydrogen Transmission Network Development Plan (TYDPH) has officially been approved. These milestones determine the structural framework for building national hydrogen infrastructure and accelerate the transition toward a low-emission economy based on the Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC).

LNG Terminal in Świnoujście Launches New Tanker Truck Loading Facility

GAZ-SYSTEM is expanding operational capacity of the Świnoujście LNG Terminal. The company has completed the expansion of the loading facility for tanker trucks transporting liquefied natural gas and has launched the fourth loading bay. Consequently, the terminal can now accommodate up to 60 tanker trucks per day, increasing its previous handling capacity by half. This marks the next stage in the development of LNG infrastructure in Poland.

GAZ-SYSTEM has completed the incremental capacity procedure for the Poland - Ukraine interconnection point

On 6 July 2026, the transmission system operators of Poland (GAZ-SYSTEM) and Ukraine (LLC “Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine”) held an auction for bundled incremental capacity products at the border between the Polish and Ukrainian market areas at the GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/UA TSO interconnection point.

The construction of the Wężerów - Przewóz gas pipeline has been completed. This GAZ-SYSTEM investment project will enhance the stability of natural gas supply and create conditions for further advancement of low-carbon heat and power generation in the Kraków metropolitan area. The construction of this transmission infrastructure required the completion of 46 trenchless crossings with a total length of almost 4 km. Along the route, 48 archaeological sites containing remains of settlements specific to this region were identified.

The third LNG Terminal to be developed in Poland

A total of four entities contracted long-term access to the FSRU 2 Terminal services. Consequently, in the Gulf of Gdańsk, a second FSRU terminal will be constructed, and thus Poland will operate three LNG terminals offering over 20 billion m³ of combined regasification capacity per year. We are consistently strengthening Poland’s position in the regional gas market, and today we have the opportunity to create one of the most important gateways to the global LNG market in Central and Eastern Europe.

10th Anniversary of the First Commercial Delivery of LNG to the Terminal in Świnoujście

Over the past decade, the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście - an important constituent of GAZ SYSTEM’s infrastructure - has handled 445 cargoes of liquefied natural gas, unloaded nearly 80 million m³ of LNG transported by sea, whilst maintaining operational availability rate at above 99 per cent. Today, it is one of the most important entry points for gas into the national transmission system and a key component of the region’s energy infrastructure.

GAZ-SYSTEM significantly reduces gas transmission costs and simplifies access to the system

Starting from 2027, the fee rates for gas transmission will fall considerably, and the rules for using the national transmission system will be simplified. GAZ-SYSTEM will establish a single balancing area for group E high-methane natural gas and a single joint interconnection point on the Poland-Germany border. The changes will reduce the costs of access to the infrastructure, make billing easier and may increase the flexibility of the gas market in Poland and the region.

‘GAZ-SYSTEM for Safety’ Nearly PLN 1.5 million in support for Volunteer Fire Brigades

Unmanned aircraft systems and cyber defence have a key role to play here.
