GAZ-SYSTEM commences construction works on the Tworóg – Tworzeń gas pipeline

The Tworóg – Tworzeń gas pipeline is going to be built in Śląskie Province and will constitute an element of the eastern line of the North-South Corridor. Its diameter is 1000 mm, pressure - 8,4 MPa, and the length exceeds 55 km.
The route of the gas pipeline is going to cross through the following communes: Tworóg, Tarnowskie Góry, Miasteczko Śląskie, Ożarowice, Mierzęcice, Siewierz and Dąbrowa Górnicza.
Implementation of this project will contribute to an increase of transmission capacities and give an added value to the areas provided for new investments within the region, yet in terms of national advantages, this undertaking will enhance security and diversify deliveries of natural gas to Poland. On the other hand, a crucial benefit for the local community is a yearly property tax of 2% off the value of gas infrastructure located within the premises of the commune, to be paid by the company.
In October 2013, the European Commission granted the investment the PCI status. The construction of the gas pipeline is financed with the European Regional Development Fund within the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020.
The investment supervision of this venture is going to be held by ECMG GmbH, whilst TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING S.A., a contractor of design plans and documentation, will be in charge of the author’s control.
The project is a part of investment accompanying undertakings related to the regasification terminal of liquid petroleum gas, based in Świnoujście, and is subject to, so called, special purpose gas act.
The construction works are planned to be closed in 2020.
