GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. begins reporting in conformity with the REMIT Regulation

Photo of the article GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. has just acquired the status of RRM (Registered Reporting Mechanism) allowing it to independently report data pursuant to the provisions of the REMIT Regulation.
The REMIT Regulation (1227/2011) on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency, and its supplementary Implementing Regulation (1348/2014), introduce an array of reporting requirements, including the obligation for transmission system operators to deliver fundamental data and trade data  regarding contracts for the natural gas transmission, concluded as a result of primary allocation of transmission capacities.
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. decided to commence independent reporting of data required under the REMIT Regulation due to concerns about the safety and control of our Customers’ data. The reporting mechanism which we prepared has successfully undergone multi-stage registration with the Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). Now we are ready to report for the entire GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. capital group and, beginning with 7 April 2016, to meet all other reporting obligations imposed by the provisions of the REMIT regulation on transmission system operators – emphasises Piotr Bagiński, Deputy Gas Market Division Director and head of the team responsible for preparing GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. for reporting in conformity with the REMIT Regulation.
In order to comply with the relevant reporting obligations, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. has developed an IT system which, having passed a series of technical examinations and documentation audits, was successfully registered in March this year by the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). Thus the company became the second entity in Poland to obtain the Registered Reporting Mechanism status. It means that as of 7 April this year GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. will be independently reporting the following data to ACER via the GAZ-SYSTEM RRM:
- fundamental data (related to natural gas transmission), i.e. information on nominations and binding re-nominations of contracted transmission capacities, specifying the identity of the system users as well as blocked quantities) and
- trade data (transmission contracts and allocations of transmission capacity obtained by the Customers of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., and also purchases of natural gas for own purposes of the operator made outside the exchange).
Transmission of data to ACER will take place in the scope specified in the Implementing Regulation (1348/2014) and in accordance with the technical standards specified by ACER for entities connected to ARIS (ACER’s REMIT Information System). ARIS is the central IT system managed by ACER, responsible for analysing and processing the reported data.
RRM GAZ-SYSTEM will report data from GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., as a transmission system operator, and from a subsidiary, Polskie LNG S.A., in the scope of data required under the REMIT Regulation in connection with the functioning of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.
