Over PLN 172 million from EU funds for another investment project of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.

"The modernisation of the transmission system in Lower Silesia in order to improve the system functionality and the optimum use of connection between Poland and Germany”’ is another investment that was financed from the Operational Programme for Infrastructure and Environment. GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. received the grant of PLN 172 million for the project.

On 29 November 2013, the Company signed an agreement concerning financing the project entitled ”The modernisation of the transmission system in Lower Silesia in order to improve the system functionality and the optimum use of connection between Poland and Germany” under the Operational Programme for Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013 with the Institute of Petroleum and Gas – the Polish Research Institute (Implementing Institution).  The project covers the construction of high pressure gas pipelines at the sections Lasów-Jeleniów and Gałów-Kiełczów, as well as the construction of Jeleniów II gas compressor station.

The purpose of the agreement with the Institute of Petroleum and Gas is to provide the funds of PLN 172.55 million from the Operational Programme for Infrastructure and Environment to expand the transmission system in Lower Silesia. The estimated net value of the whole project is PLN 309.87 million.

Gas pipelines: Lasów-Jeleniów and Gałów-Kiełczów of 60 km in total and Jeleniów II compressor station will be located in the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship. The project is an important element of increasing the security, reliability and flexibility of the operation of the gas transmission system mainly within Lower Silesia. The purpose of the above investments is to expand the Polish transmission system and develop the potential of Poland-Germany interconnector.

Project documentation of the gas pipeline at the section Lasów - Jeleniów and Jeleniów II compression station was prepared. Construction permits were obtained respectively in October and July 2013. A construction permit for the gas pipeline at the section Gałów-Kiełczów is to be obtained in December 2013. The whole investment project is planned to be completed in 2015.
